We would like to briefly share what we have come to understand as being truly important in our church.
The Word of God tops the list—it’s clear and faithful proclamation and our unflinching and uncompromising faith in it as the very words of God.
Loving one another is a huge emphasis at Parkside because it is a distinguishing mark of a true Christian.
Being your real self has become a characteristic of family life at Parkside.
This is a sense of what I believe is of utmost importance to the family life of our church.
- Pastor Mike Fraga
Songs of praise & worship and reading God’s Word together focuses
our attention on Jesus and prepares us to hear God’s Word.
Prayer
is always offered for the needs of the people in our church, our
loved ones who are not, and for God’s will to be accomplished in our
world.
Pastor Mike considers biblical preaching a sacred
trust.
Through prayer, study, and reliance upon the Spirit of
God, he brings a message that points us to the glory of
Christ.
We believe that when God’s Word is faithfully
proclaimed, God’s voice is truly heard.
It’s a time to recharge and reconnect with one another over dinner.
We discuss our thoughts and questions about the Sunday message and discover new insights that were not shared on Sunday.
In our highly spiritualized culture, it’s easy to absorb wrong ideas
about God—and then pass those wrong ideas or assumptions to our
children and to others. Wrong ideas about God make the Bible
confusing and hinders our spiritual growth.
We desire to be a people who "worship God in spirit and in
truth."
True worship always combines heart and head, emotion
and thought, affection and reflection because truth without emotion
produces dead orthodoxy and a church full of artificial admirers;
and emotion without truth produces empty excitement and cultivates
people who refuse the discipline of rigorous faith-building thought.
"Dinner & a Bible" is the place where we study the Bible in an
interactive way.
God places His children in local church families.
Within this family, we have been given many exhortations to be there for one another in
big and small ways ...
to walk through the good and bad, the easy and hard ...
always eager to listen, to pray, and to point each other to Jesus and God’s very great
and precious promises.
Only God can reach the heart that has been damaged by or controlled by sin.
We have every confidence that He is fully able to redeem, repair, and release the one
who looks to Him in hope.
With this in mind, we offer tremendous gospel saturated, Christ-centered booklets to
you.
Each booklet focuses on the real ways our lives are affected by sin and living in a
broken world—
Depression, Anger, Addiction, Pornography, Grief, Cancer, Death, or recovering from
Child Abuse or Abortion.
There is someone who is ready to walk with you as you read, ponder, process, and pray
through your booklet.
